What to Expect
Auditions are designed to give us a chance to see you
move across a variety of styles while keeping the experience fun and welcoming.
The general audition schedule will include:

Check-in + introductions

Warm-up
-
Technique (mix of across-the-floor combinations + improv)
-
Jazz Combination (taught by an exec and then done in smaller groups)
-
Contemporary Combination (same set up as Jazz)
Before You Audition
**All dancers must complete the audition registration form prior to auditions**
(When registering, we recommend using a non-UBC email address whenever possible,
as our correspondence can sometimes be filtered into UBC junk mail.)

FAQs
What is the practice schedule/commitment?
While the specific dates and times depend on available bookings, we generally have one mandatory 4-hour rehearsal a week and two optional studios times throughout the week. Attendance for these open studios is periodically required when scheduled.
How can I prepare for the audition?
No prep is needed! All material will be taught during the audition after a group warm-up.
How often do you perform?
Performances are variable between years, but there are typically four big performances spread throughout the year at UBC plus any extra opportunities we are presented with!
